Overview

A-SCEND is not a standalone compliance tool but the audit management platform of A-LIGN, a licensed CPA firm, 3PAO and C3PAO founded in 2009 and headquartered in Tampa. It comes included with A-LIGN audit engagements and is used to collect evidence once and reuse it across SOC 2, ISO, HITRUST, FedRAMP and other assessments. The fit leans toward mid-market and enterprise organizations that want the audit and the evidence workspace from the same firm.

Because A-LIGN performs the audit, the SOC 2 relationship runs through a dedicated A-LIGN audit team, and A-SCEND serves as the shared workspace between auditor and client. The platform was authorized at FedRAMP 20x Low in September 2025. In March 2026, A-LIGN added EvidenceIQ, which scores evidence with AI and supports reuse across services. A-SCEND can also import evidence from Vanta, and Drata import is listed as in progress, which matters for companies already using one of those tools for readiness work.

Named frameworks include SOC 2, ISO 27001, HITRUST, FedRAMP, PCI DSS, HIPAA, CMMC and ISO 42001; framework and integration totals are not published. Questionnaire automation is included, policy templates are not, and trust center and vendor risk capabilities are not documented. G2 lists a 4.7 out of 5 rating from 73 reviews. Pricing follows the audit engagement, and third-party figures place A-LIGN SOC 2 Type I fees around $10,000 to $20,000 and Type II fees around $15,000 to $50,000.

Companies that already plan to hire A-LIGN, or that need several attestations such as SOC 2 and FedRAMP from one firm, are the logical shortlist. Buyers should understand that A-SCEND is an audit workspace, not a full readiness program: it does not supply policy templates or a separate advisory layer. Teams without an existing readiness tool may need to budget for one alongside the engagement.
